Jesus Guerrero, a talented hairstylist whose clientele included Kylie Jenner, the Kardashians, and J.Lo herself, tragically passed away at 34. Guerrero's sister, Gris, announced his passing on February 22, 2024, on GoFundMe.

“It is with a heavy heart that we let the world know that Jesus Guerrero has gone to heaven,” she wrote on the website. “Unfortunately, his passing came very suddenly and unexpectedly. Currently, his family is taking care of his personal belongings and accommodations to bring him home to Houston.”

While the cause of his death has not been confirmed, social media users are claiming that Lopez’s team left Guerrero behind in Dubai, sick with pneumonia, while they jetted back home. However, this has not been confirmed to be true.

On Instagram, a circulating post featured a Story by the CEO of Dripology. He reportedly knew Guerrero and wrote, "Jesus Guerrero was one of the most talented hairstylists in the world, but more importantly, he had the biggest heart. There wasn't a single person who had anything but love and respect for him. He was kind, generous, and full of life. The fact that he was left in a foreign country when he was too sick to travel back with the talent – only to return to LA and pass away in the hospital from pneumonia 0 – is beyond devastating. The negligence here is criminal. No one should ever be abandoned like that, especially someone as beloved as Jesus."

@theprinceofpersia on Instagram corrected himself later in his Stories, writing, "I have since learned that the teams Jesus was with, and those close to him, did all that they could to find him care and to bring him home."

Before his passing, Guerrero had been working with Lopez overseas. On Feb. 19, J.Lo shared an Instagram post from her trip to the UAE, tagging her glam squad, including Guerrero. She performed in Dubai on Feb. 18 and Abu Dhabi on Feb. 20, meaning Guerrero was very much on duty with her team just days before he died.

TikTok users like @crimetimeteatime and @lizhrndz_ wonder if Guerrero fell ill in Dubai and was left alone. Instead of someone staying behind to care for him, the claim is that Lopez’s team allegedly left him behind alone at a hospital in a foreign country.

Unfortunately, the GoFundMe has only fueled more speculations. Users are wondering why the family of a man with an A-list client roster was left scrambling for funeral costs. Viewers are also asking why J.Lo is not covering the costs.

Shortly after this outrage, a source for Kylie Jenner announced that Jenner would be supporting Guerrero's family financially. “Jesus’ death hit her hard," an insider told PEOPLE. "She is shocked and very upset. Still, she’s doing everything she can to be supportive and aid his family, including financially."

The source added, "As upset as she feels, she knows it’s so much worse for his family. She doesn’t want them to stress about money. She’s taking care of expenses, including those associated with his funeral.”

Kim Kardashian also wrote on Instagram, "So when one of our glam family members passes away all of our souls are crushed." Khloe reposted Kim’s message, adding, "We become family with our glam teams, and we share so much of our lives with them."

Another Hollywood Hairstylist From the Same Agency Passes Away

TikTokers have also noted that another hairstylist from the same agency, The Wall Group, recently died. Graham Nation, a respected stylist who worked with stars like Demi Moore and Emma Chamberlain, passed away at the age of 39. The cause of his death is still under investigation.

The Internet’s Verdict: Guilty Until Proven Innocent

There is no evidence that Lopez or her team intentionally abandoned Guerrero, but that hasn’t stopped TikTok from spreading the story. One comment on the platform read, “Mind you, J.Lo is connected to Diddy and Diddys’ ex suspiciously died of pneumonia..”

Someone else added, “You just don’t get pneumonia over night so he had been sick for at least a few days.. She had him traveling and doing her hair while sick. And Dubai has world class health care & they couldn’t treat him?”

So far, Guerrero's GoFundMe has raised $96,000. His sister kindly thanked everyone on the fundraising plataform. "We would like to thank everyone for everything during this extremely hard time. I know my brother was extremely loved and it really shows," she wrote. "My brother was the world to me and my family, he always did everything he could for us. Growing up the way we did, he helped raise me and ground me and he will always be the person I look up to the most. He deserved all the blessings he was given and I hope with the help we’ve gotten he will get the send off from this earth that he deserves."

"With his death being so sudden and unexpected, we hope everyone can respect our families privacy as we try to gather answers ourselves to all the questions. At this moment, answers won’t seem to be here for a while but we thank everyone for their love, support, and assistance in getting these answers as soon as possible."
