Tyrese Gibson's Ex-Wife Regrets Divorce, Says Her Friends Influenced Her To Do It

Fast and Furious actor Tyrese Gibson got married to Samantha Lee in 2017. One year later, they welcomed their daughter – but the couple announced their split in 2020. Now Lee wants to reconcile, but Gibson doesn't feel the same.

In a recent episode on the Hardly Initiated podcast, Lee opened up about her divorce, which she expressed regrets over. According to the fitness and beauty influencer, she was "emotionally intoxicated" when she made the decision to sign the papers, and seemingly suggested that her friends influenced her.

"If I had different people at that time, I would not have made that decision," she revealed.

"I would never tell somebody to make that decision when they're that emotional," Lee later said, adding how she only focused on the "negative" aspects of her relationship rather than the positive ones.

Lee explained that she had failed to seek advice from “pro-marriage” friends, according to Mens Journal. “You need somebody to be that [balanced] person...in those moments,” she said.

Lee continued, "It’s my daughter’s father, so if we were both going to show up and we were both going to fight for it equally and sacrifice equally, like you know things that I needed, and you know things that he knows he needed. ... I wasn’t perfect. If we were both willing to fight and we were both willing to do certain things, then yes. No one wants a broken family.”

However, Gibson hit back on Instagram, stating that Lee only wanted attention. "She is loving it. Congratulations, you went viral again over something else that you said 'cause you trying to build up your YouTube page and get your followers up,” he said in a now-deleted video.

The actor expressed his beliefs on the matter, saying that the divorce was about "money." "This sh*t is about money," he said. "You hired three law firms trying to f*cking suck me dry." Gibson exposed Lee by claiming that he was approaching $1,000,000 in legal fees, that they had a prenup, and that she tried to come back to him.

"Everything about the way you left me was heartless," Gibson shared. "It was evil, you never considered me, your marriage, and let alone your innocent one-year-old child. She had to celebrate her second birthday apart [from Lee]."

“If you had people in your ear at the time, they must be still in your ear because you still trying to get $20,000 a month for a 5-year-old. You make $160,000 a year on your own," he added. “I don't care to be liked, I got my heart broke. I was married, I was with this woman five years, I never cheated. I was a good man, a good husband, and very, very focused on my family and children."
