An alleged UCF professor-TA scandal has taken over social media.
It all started at the UCF subreddit when a user asked why "Professor Meade" reportedly got fired. Mods tried to squash the gossip by removing threads, but users wouldn’t let it go.
Comments in the thread before it got deleted claimed that Professor Meade was reportedly let go from his position for dating his student TA, a girl named Kaylee. Students on campus then uploaded photos of the pair to Imgur, showing them walking side by side.
According to commenters, people spotted Hello Kitty coloring pages on the professor's door with strange messages. The images had messages written in crayon that read, "Happy 43st birthday" and a cutesy "Kaylee :) Happy Birthday Daddy, I love you." Others noted how the coloring and messages appear to have been written by an immature child.
Understandably, the internet was sent into a frenzy, and it didn’t take long for a TikTok video to show the images of Hello Kitty Girl purportedly sleeping on the ground in Professor Meade’s classroom. More photos showed them sitting together in hallways and outside on the grass.
A screenshot circulating on social media shows a course syllabus with Hello Kitty Girl listed as the TA. The name Kaylee was the only thing highlighted in color, which led people to ask, "Uh, why is it pink?" In one of the photos, the professor was seen adjusting something on the back of her dress.
Meanwhile, things exploded on X (formerly Twitter), where user @starsleeps dropped a bombshell: "I was a TA at UCF, and I remember them very clearly outlining that staff cannot date undergrad students. I guess now I know why LMAOOO." Screenshots from a Discord chat were also shared, where someone – allegedly Kaylee/Hello Kitty Girl – denied the dating rumors, saying, "We never dated. That’s ENOUGH." She also claimed to be engaged. Engaged to who, you ask? Well, some people think she’s actually talking about Professor Meade.
On 4Chan, another user claimed to know Kaylee, who is apparently a Russian-American with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder), and engaged to Professor Meade. They shared screenshots of her allegedly threatening to report Meade to the school during a breakdown and lying to her peers about never dating him.
The same 4Chan user shared screenshots from a Discord chat where "Hello Kitty girl" supposedly talks trash about the professor, calling him a "bald-headed loser" who only got involved with her because of his position of power. She even hinted that after reporting him, his career was toast, saying he wouldn’t get approved for a loan.
The situation sparked a debate among social media users. One wrote, "I don’t get it, aren’t they both adults?" Well, yes. But the real issue here is the imbalance of power. These rules are there to prevent manipulation, coercion, and abuse.
Viv (@Iustwetrust on X) summed up the weirdness perfectly: "I’m so gagged by this whole UCF professor Hello Kitty TA affair situation. Why were they being so obvious?? Why was she making coloring pages that said 'I love you Daddy' and looked like they were from a toddler? Why did they swap clothes in public??" The internet had a lot of questions but no one seemed to have answers.
A TikToker also added their two cents, saying, "When everyone is shocked that a professor got fired but his Hello Kitty girl TA was literally coloring pictures of Hello Kitty and writing 'happy 43st birthday daddy, I love you' that he would publicly display on his office door."
