Who Is The Killer In Season 4 Of “You”? We’re Giving Our Best Predictions About Part 2
Who doesn’t love a good murder mystery and psychological thriller?

The first half of the fourth season of You is a diversion from its usual formula, switching the genre from psychological thriller to a whodunit murder mystery in the vein of Agatha Christie. Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), also known as the internet’s favorite fictional serial killer, moves from California to London (after killing his wife and faking his own death, of course) under the persona of Jonathan Moore, a literature professor at a university in London. While living in London, he tries to lay low only to find himself in a group of rich friends. It doesn’t take long for some of his new “friends” to start dying at the hands of the “Eat the Rich” killer, who is blackmailing Joe because they know his true identity.
The first half of the season aired in early February, and we can’t wait for the second half to come on March 9. Here’s what we’re expecting for the second half of the season.
Who’s the “Eat the Rich” Killer?
Though the killer is revealed near the end of the fifth episode, we thought it would be fun to go over the list of suspects for those who haven’t watched yet or haven’t finished the first five episodes.
Kate
Beautiful, smart, and mysterious, Kate is Joe’s new love interest. She may be cold, but it doesn’t take long for Joe to realize that she’s loyal and deeply cares for the ones she loves. Though we like her, we all know Joe doesn’t have the best track record of choosing women. The odds of Joe falling for two killer women are low, but anything can happen in the world of You.
Phoebe
As a privileged heiress and aristocrat, you would expect Phoebe to be a snob, but she’s an absolute sweetheart. Her kindness makes us think there’s no way she’s a killer, but we also felt the same way about Love Quinn in the second season. Could her kindness be a facade to hide her dark side?
Adam
The only American in the group, Adam is the son of a wealthy American businessman and Phoebe’s boyfriend. He likes to show off his wealth, but it’s no secret that he’s the black sheep of his prestigious family due to his love of partying. He kind of reminds us of a young Scott Disick. But does playboy equal murderer?
Rhys
Rhys is an author and aspiring politician, and one of the few people Joe can relate to, since he also grew up in poverty. He seems to be the most level-headed person in Joe’s new group of wealthy friends, leading to a genuine friendship between him and Joe. However, Joe isn’t the best judge of character; could he have unknowingly befriended a murderer?
Nadia
Nadia, one of Joe’s university students, is the only suspect who isn’t wealthy. He cares for her the same way he cared for Paco in season one and Ellie in season two. She’s sweet, hardworking, beautiful, and funny; we can’t find a single thing to dislike about her. Could her kindness be too good to be true?
Roald
Let’s be honest: Roald is creepy. He’s like Draco Malfoy without the redemption arc, and the part of you that feels bad for him is because his parents' choices clearly damaged him. Roald actually gives serial killer vibes, and we were half-expecting him to shout, “Wait until my father hears about this!” several times throughout the season. Could this playboy and walking red flag be the killer?
Simon
Despite wanting to appear like a tortured and starving artist, Simon is the son of a wealthy tech billionaire. He’s mysterious yet rude, leading us to wonder if there’s something more to this supposed tortured soul — but is he capable of murder?
Sophie
There isn’t much to this social media influencer and tech heiress, but it’s clear that she’s protective of her family (mainly her brother, Simon) and enjoys her luxurious lifestyle. Could the need to protect her family and lifestyle be a motive to kill?
Gemma
It’s no secret that Gemma is as privileged as she is fabulous, but her lack of empathy and cruelty toward those she believes to be below her makes us think she might be a sociopath. She gives us the same vibes as Peach from the first season, so what are the odds that she takes her cruelty to the next level?
Blessing
With multiple graduate degrees, this Nigerian princess might be the smartest person in the group, but there’s something fishy about her financial endeavors and love of crypto. She might be fun, but she seems like the type of person who would drop a friend for the pettiest reasons. Does that mean she could be a killer?
Connie
We’re almost positive that there isn’t a single scene where Connie is sober, and he’s so spoiled and rich that we doubt he’s ever had to face any consequences for his poor decisions. Is he so spoiled that he thinks he can get away with murder?
What We Expect for You, Part 2
Not only is Joe aware of the killer’s identity, but the killer knows that Joe is a serial killer too. How can Joe expose the “Eat the Rich” killer without exposing his past and his own crimes? We’re sure this will be a central theme in the second half of the season, alongside Joe trying to come to terms with the fact that he can’t escape the past and that he’s not the good guy he thinks he is.
We’re also excited to see if anyone from Joe’s past will come back to haunt him. Though the trailer for part two (don’t watch unless you want to be spoiled about who the killer is) insinuates that the ghost of Love Quinn will haunt him (or is she still alive?), we can’t help but wonder if other characters like Ellie or Marienne will track him down. Since every season takes place in a new setting, we doubt that Joe won’t be able to keep up his persona as Professor Jonathan Moore for much longer, and we’re excited to see where he will go from here!
Closing Thoughts
The popularity of Netflix’s You proves that our culture loves psychological thrillers about serial killers and murder mysteries. While we wait for the second half of the new season to drop, you can find us contemplating what’s next for Joe Goldberg.
