It’s fall, and it’s election season. So, what better time to talk about our favorite Gilmore Girls characters and their hypothetical vote? Here’s a look at which iconic characters would lean blue or red at the ballot box.

Lorelai Gilmore

Lorelai would definitely fall into the centrist category, perhaps leaning toward Kamala Harris, according to Gilmore Girls fans. While she appreciates her efforts, she might raise eyebrows at some of her decisions. Always the pragmatist, Lorelai would enjoy discussing politics over coffee at Luke’s, perhaps jokingly suggesting a bake sale to fund her candidate’s campaign.

However, knowing Lorelai's chaotic personality, there's a good chance that something would pop up, and she'd never make it to the polls.

Rory Gilmore

Rory, who once dreamed of working alongside Obama, would almost certainly vote for Kamala Harris. She’s more progressive, and her past experiences would likely shape her support of Harris, especially given the importance of having a woman of color on the ticket.

Lane Kim

Like Rory and Lorelai, Lane is passionate about social justice and would likely rally behind Kamala Harris.

Jess Mariano

Jess would be disillusioned, opting out of the voting process entirely. He would argue that the system is rigged and focus on his artistic pursuits instead. As one fan on Reddit speculated, I could see him writing a one-act play critiquing the self-consuming nature of democracy. While others engage in political debates, Jess would be in the background doing his own thing.

Taylor Doose

In stark contrast, Taylor would enthusiastically campaign for Trump. He’s more traditional and harbors strong opinions, which mirrors Trump’s behavior and leadership. You can bet he’d be setting up campaign signs and rallying fellow residents at town meetings, trying to sway even the most liberal of Stars Hollow citizens to his side.

Christopher Hayden

As a character with a complicated relationship with responsibility and ambition, Christopher might lean towards a more traditional, perhaps even Republican, stance. His conservative values may likely lead him to vote for Trump.

Kirk Gleason

Kirk would bring his usual quirky flair to the election. He’d actually be working the polls, and if he could, he’d probably go for RFK Jr.

Emily and Richard Gilmore

Emily and Richard represent the old-school Republicans of Stars Hollow. Their loyalty to traditional conservative values lead me to think that the two would cast their votes for a candidate who reflects their family values. They would most likely choose Trump.

Sookie St. James

As @megisbest on the Gilmore Girls subreddit hilariously puts it, Sookie would be all in for supporting Harris but might request a mail-in ballot only to forget to send it amid her kitchen chaos. Her enthusiasm would shine through her culinary creations, but her absent-mindedness could lead to a missed opportunity to vote.

Paris Geller

Another user, @JennaSideSaddle, believes Paris would be in full intellectual mode. She has recently been fascinated by the “Nordic model” and democratic socialism. As she drafts a manifesto to improve society, she enthusiastically debates her friends, pushing them to consider her views and the merits of her proposed changes. She reminds me of the classic liberal student. That said, Paris would most likely vote for Kamala Harris.
