Twilight is still a hit nearly two decades later. Every young woman under 35 had a "Twilight phase” – binge-reading the books, collecting posters of heartthrob Robert Pattinson, and obsessively watching the movies were the norm. Stephenie Meyer's world of hot vampires and brooding romances had a chokehold on the era.

But what happens when we step back from teenage angst, eternal love, weird CGI babies, and silly baseball games and look at the characters through a modern political lens? Forget the "Team Edward" vs. "Team Jacob" debate that took over Myspace. Who would these iconic characters vote for today? One fan account recently gave us a wild political take on our favorite Twilight characters – and honestly, it's hilarious but kinda accurate.

Bella Swan

I could definitely see Bella getting caught up in the new-age, spiritual wellness trend. But once she turned into the hot vampire mom, it’s like she stopped caring. Priorities shifted. When you’re immortal, do you really care who’s running for office? “Bella was a Marianne Williamson fan, but once she became a hot vampire MILF, she stopped caring about politics,” @geyinterrupted wrote. But let’s not forget that some people think she’d totally be into Bernie Sanders...before Edward swept her away, that is.

Edward Cullen

Now, Edward is the definition of a traditional and masculine man. “Edward was a classic trad. Wouldn’t take Bella’s virginity pre-marriage, chivalrous and likely pro-life since he only kills to protect and let her go through that insane vampire pregnancy even though it almost killed her. Republican sorry!” the user wrote.

Chivalrous to a fault and obsessed with protecting Bella, he’d likely have some pro-life leanings, especially since he let her endure that absolutely wild vampire pregnancy. Edward would honestly rock a MAGA hat.

Rosalie Hale

“Rosalie radfemme radicalized by her gang r*pe. Killed all her attackers. Probably works behind the scenes to murder evil political men. Definitely voting Kamala,” says @geyinterrupted. Rosalie has one of the most tragic backstories. She would demand a feminist future and would not be voting Republican.

Emmett Cullen

Emmett doesn’t seem like he’s too deep into politics. “Emmet loves RFK, but he’s voting Kamala for Rosalie,” says @geyinterrupted. This checks out. He’s a real loverboy and votes based on the women in his life, and if Rosalie’s on the Kamala train, well, so is he.

Jasper Hale

Jasper’s past as a Confederate soldier is the one thing that’s always raised eyebrows, even in vampire circles. As @geyinterrupted puts it: “Literal Confederate soldier sooo... do with that what you will.” Trump, maybe?

Charlie Swan

“Charlie Swan is a Reagan Republican cop,” the user tweets. Charlie is old-school, a man of the law, and likely has some very traditional views. He's serious about his duties, responsibilities, and protecting his small town. He’s probably not a fan of big government or progressive politics. His pick would have been Raegan, but if he had to vote this year, he'd go for Trump.

Esme and Carlisle Cullen

“Esme and Carlisle are big annoying libs. Kamala sign in yard. I mean they’re literal VAMPIRES could be living like aristocrats and they choose a dumb PMC lifestyle where they don’t even act a little evil? No vigor or vitality,” one tweet reads. Carlisle and Esme have all the wealth, power, and influence in the world, yet they’re content to live like your average suburban couple. In 2024, they're all about Kamala Harris, plastering those signs on their immaculately manicured lawn while raising their perfect vampire family.

Jacob Black

“Jacob is a radical leftist who wants to overthrow the government and give all the land back to the Native Americans."

That’s right. Jacob’s done playing nice, and he’s channeling all his energy into a political movement that aligns with his heritage and his fierce sense of justice. He’s fighting for his people, even if it means tearing down the entire system in the process. He'd pick Kamala Harris or Bernie Sanders.

Renee Dwyer

Bella’s mom, Renee, is more laid back. “Annoying Taos hippie turquoise politics. Probs a Marianne type too,” @geyinterrupted suggests. Think yoga retreats, essential oils, and vague spiritual philosophies that translate to political support for whoever seems the most zen at the moment. Renee is probably off in the desert somewhere, living her best life, and not stressing too much about the intricacies of the electoral system. But if she had to choose, it would be RFK.

The Volturi

“The Volturi are obviously the literal deep state/shadow government/regime Illuminati,” says @geyinterrupted. They’re not voting, they’re running the show. One Redditor adds, “Jane is an ice fascist vampire supremacist that thinks humans are bugs.”
