The veneer trend is not dying anytime soon.

In fact, veneer technicians – unlicensed individuals who illegally place veneers on customers – are opening up more offices in America than ever before. The latest beauty craze not only makes it look like you have dentures (let's not lie), but it also can come with health risks.

Winter Blanco, who appeared on the Bad Girls Club, opened up about her negative experience with getting veneers. The social media personality says she was in a lot of pain after the procedure and has been dealing with it for the past two years. Blanco said she got veneers in Miami but "it ruined my life."

She now has temporomandibular joint dysfunction, or TMJ,  which can lead to pain and discomfort, difficulty chewing, and clicking or locking of the jaw joint. After visiting numerous doctors who failed to help her, Blanco said that "The medical industry, the dental industry in America," does "not care about what you are going through," adding that "everything is about money for them."

Blanco is at a loss after having already spent a total of $80,000 on veneers and treatments. "I can't do anything. I've already spent $80,000 pretty much on this whole situation in two years." The media personality says her TMJ is "severe" and alleges the Smile Dental Center in Miami "lost" her "bite."

"Nothing ever works. I don't know what to do anymore," Blanco cried. "Like I can't even sue the freaking dentist," adding that she can't sue for her "sensory issues."

"They've never heard of it, and you can't prove that they gave you these issues because there's no way to diagnose it specifically. It's just a whole thing. They offered to give me my money back within the first year, and I told them no so that I could bring awareness," she said.

Blanco now has to live with pain every day, and she can't close her mouth comfortably. "My life is literally ruined because I got my teeth done," she added. "I'm not even joking. I'm constantly in pain. I can't even close my mouth properly after a retainer."

The media personality says that the doctors have called her "crazy" over her symptoms. However, according to the Dental Law Partnership, veneers could potentially lead to nerve damage. "If the veneers do not fit closely to the teeth underneath; this can cause pain and sensitivity, and even nerve damage, as well as potential problems with food accumulation, staining of the edges of the veneers, and possible gum damage," they wrote on their page.

This is not the first time that Blanco has opened up about a cosmetic procedure. In 2022, she shared a photo of her "botched" BBL.

Unfortunately, it seems like the TMJ situation is much worse than the BBL she got, and I'm guessing Blanco will continue to spread awareness about the risks associated with veneers. Teeth or TMJ pain is no joke. Hope she feels better soon.
